Understanding all the ways that diabetes affects the family isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when being diagnosed or living with diabetes.
Michael’s diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, at age 11, not only changed his life, but his loved ones too, when he wasn’t feeling well and his doctor urged his parents to take him to the hospital. This came as a shock to his grandfather, Charlie, who tried to remain calm when he got the call.
With little knowledge of the disease, Charlie pledged himself to help his grandson in any way he could. Now these sportsmen are going to take a shot at helping others like Michael by raising money for The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
The event takes place at this exclusive setting, which allows Sportsmen for Charity to utilize it to raise funds. And, together, they are going to take aim at helping DRIF, as a cure is within reach.
